VISA REGIME FOR ENTRY IN UKRAINE

The procedure for entry, stay and employment of foreigners in Ukraine is determined by the Constitution of Ukraine, the Law of Ukraine "On the legal status of foreigners", the Law of Ukraine "On immigration", Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 118 dated March 1, 2017 "On approval of the rules for issuing visas to Ukraine and transit through its territory" and other laws of Ukraine, as well as international treaties of Ukraine.

Visa documents are issued outside Ukraine in diplomatic institutions.

• It is necessary to take this into account in cases of entry into Ukraine under the visa-free regime or on a short-term visa for processing documents for a residence permit. A temporary residence permit can be obtained only after leaving Ukraine and obtaining a long-term visa.

There are several types of visas for entry into Ukraine, namely:

• transit (type "B", the allowed period of stay is up to 5 days);
• short-term (type "C", the allowed period of stay does not exceed 90 days within 180 days from the date of the first entry, can be single or reusable);
• long-term (type “D”, issued for entry into Ukraine (issued by a foreign diplomatic institution) in order to process documents giving the right to stay or live in Ukraine for a period exceeding 90 days).
• Single electronic visa for a stay of up to 30 days in Ukraine for private, business, tourist, sports, cultural or recreational purposes.

To obtain a visa to Ukraine, it is necessary to collect the appropriate package of documents and submit them to a foreign diplomatic institution:

1. Passport (passport validity is not less than 3 months from the date of the planned departure from Ukraine, the passport is valid for no more than 10 years, there are two free pages for inserting visas and marks).
2. Filled visa application form;  EXAMPLE FOR VISA UKRAINIAN/ RUSSIAN / ENGLISH.
3. One colour photo of 3.5 * 4.5 cm.
4. A health insurance policy with a loss cover of at least € 30,000, valid for the duration of your stay in Ukraine.
5. Proof of sufficient financial security. For 2019, this is: from 1280 UAH per day + always add 6400 UAH (as the amount for 5 additional days). This amount can be presented as an amount on a visa / MasterCard card in currency or in another way. For example, for a stay of 10 days you need 1280 * 10 + 6400 UAH = 19,200 UAH.
6. Confirmation of payment of the visa application.

To obtain a short-term visa (type "C"), one of the documents listed below is additionally attached:

• An invitation from a Ukrainian legal entity or an invitation certified by a notary from an individual (an individual may be a non-citizen of Ukraine).
• One of the options invitations: from the medical institution, from the state government; from a religious organization.
• Identity certificate of a foreign Ukrainian, if possible.
• Confirmation of the tourist purpose of the trip.
• The appeal of foreign media (newspapers, broadcasting organizations) for a visa for the correspondent.
• Confirmation of kinship with the citizens of Ukraine.
• Providing a document about an investment in Ukraine or about the presence of real estate in Ukraine.

For a long-term visa (type “D”), one of the documents listed below is additionally provided:

• Permission for employment in Ukraine or an agreement with the employer in the case of the status of a foreign Ukrainian.
• The decision about the permission for immigration from the Ukrainian migration service.
• Refugee status document.
• Invitation to study from a higher educational institution.
• Invitation from: state organization, foreign mission, religious organization, volunteer organization.
• The appeal of foreign media (newspapers, broadcasting organizations) for a visa for the correspondent.
• A document confirming the fact of marriage with a citizen of Ukraine.
• A document confirming the fact of kinship with persons who have a temporary residence permit.
• Documents confirming the presence of an investment in the Ukrainian company in the amount of not less than 100 thousand euros.

An electronic visa is issued for a specific list of countries. For registration, you need to register on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and download all the necessary documents. Registration should be done no earlier than 90 days and no later than 10 days before the planned date of travel. E-VISA provides a stay of not more than 30 days.

Deadline for obtaining a visa to Ukraine:

Urgent - up to 5 days.

Normal - up to 10 business days.

Consular fee for a visa to Ukraine:

The basic consular fee for a visa to Ukraine is $ 65. (Urgent clearance: double size). At the same time, for some countries, there are other rates that can be checked on the official websites of diplomatic institutions.

For E-VISA there is a tariff of $ 85 without the right of any benefits and exemptions.

Exempt from visa fees: children under six years old, persons with the status of a foreign Ukrainian.
